Control of my destiny began for me in 2012, at the age of 27, when I stepped on a scale during a doctor’s visit and saw the number go up to 270 lbs. The doctor diagnosed me with pre-hypertension and warned me of the need for prescription meds in the near future.
Post-doctor visit, my first step was to join a gym to “lose weight.” However, I completely dismissed all healthy eating habits. I continued to “earn” eight tacos on a “Taco Tuesday” just because I did 20 sets of dumbbell curls on arm day.
I found myself in a cycle repeating these ineffective eating habits, but everything changed a few months later when I joined Instagram. Through Instagram, I gained motivation by following the health and wellness journeys of other people around the world, realizing the importance of a balanced diet, and vital habits for a healthier lifestyle.
It was then that I became committed to evolving MY lifestyle and began my health and wellness journey. I also began documenting my health journey through the same social media platform that helped me be part of this new, and better way of life.
Eight months into my journey, my physical transformation was so obvious that many others found motivation in me and inquired my advice on, “how did you do it”? This made me realize the value and devotion I had in helping others achieve the strongest version of themselves.
Now, I share with all of you my philosophy on health and nutrition.
